Technical Manager (rif. TM)

SMS group S.p.A. is an Italian company which can count more than 500 employees in three different locations of Tarcento (Udine), San Donato Milanese (Milan) and Genoa, with its wide technical expertise, is specialized in the production of innovative and turn‑key plants, such as hot and cold rolling mills for flat products, process lines, reheating furnaces and heat‑treatment lines, rolling mills for long products, meltshops and continuous casting machines.

We are looking for the position of Technical Manager (rif. TM).

Responsibilities

• Initiates, coordinates, and controls all engineering activities to ensure in‑cost, in‑time and in‑quality execution.
• Leads the engineering and ensures effective interdisciplinary coordination and collaboration.
• Represents the dedicated product in internal and external meetings.
• Acts as technical contact person for inquiries from customers and site.
• Manages engineering budget in alignment with Technical Sales Managers.
• Executes Quality Checks.
• Participates in the kick‑off meeting and project start‑up workshop.
• Analyzes the contract for completeness of technical documentation and correctness of technical concept with regard to limits on supplies, performance and interfaces.
• Compiles and assesses the risks and opportunities.
• Establishes compliance of technical and safety standards.
• Checks and updates engineering budget.
• Ensures that the technical documentation is compiled and handed over on time and in full, in accordance with the customer contract.

• Responsible for the successful, in‑budget, in‑time and in‑quality engineering along with customer satisfaction for the dedicated product.
• Responsible for the validity, integrity, and up‑to‑date engineering progress and status reporting for the dedicated product.
• Responsible for the implementation and adherence of product safety precautions for the dedicated product.
• Responsible for the technical risk management for the dedicated product.
• Responsible for change management for the dedicated product.
• Accountable for conduction and documentation of appropriate design reviews and approvals for the dedicated product.
• Accountable for the compliance of the dedicated product with the contractual specifications and performance parameters.
