We have an opportunity for an experienced leader with deep and broad technical expertise in renewable energy to join the Technical Operations team of WiseEnergy, a leading global asset manager, part of the NextEnergy Group.
The ideal candidate will have solid knowledge and experience in solar PV, with additional expertise in wind and battery storage highly valued. The primary purpose of this role is to support operational asset management teams in driving superior asset performance and to define and execute the global technical strategy.
Responsibilities include overseeing daily activities, supporting team members, solving problems, and fostering continuous improvement. You will also provide mentorship across the technical operations department. Our team is mainly based in London and Milan, with staff in Hyderabad, USA, Chile, Portugal, Poland, and Spain.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Innovation & Efficiency: Cultivate a culture of quality, effectiveness, and efficiency; identify and implement process improvements; drive digitalisation and innovative working methods.
- Stakeholder Management & Communication: Collaborate with various departments and group-level teams to optimize PV plant performance; influence senior management; communicate technical concepts clearly; build trusting relationships with clients.
- Technical Expertise: Drive performance of PV assets; manage contractual frameworks; ensure service contract delivery; build relationships with O&Ms and technical service providers; act as the senior technical interface; manage equipment claims; participate in high-level meetings with stakeholders.
EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS
- 10+ years in renewable energy sectors such as Asset Management, Technical Advisory, Owners’ Engineering, O&M, EPC, etc.
- Engineering degree or relevant experience required.
- Legal right to work in Italy or the UK.
Skills & Competencies
- Leadership & Management: Proven ability to set vision, develop strategies, and manage teams, ideally with P&L responsibility. International experience, including managing diverse technical teams and international projects in countries like the UK, Italy, India, Spain, Portugal, US, or Chile.
- Stakeholder Management & Communication: Strong communication skills; ability to handle conflicts; fluent in English and Italian; proficiency in a third language is advantageous.
- Technical Expertise: Deep knowledge of renewable assets, from development to operation; capable of managing complex projects independently; IT skills including Microsoft Office, SCADA, and PVSyst (preferred but not mandatory).
