Technical Program Manager, AWS DC Central Operations

The team is seeking a Technical Program Manager to solve innovative problems via business process and technology innovations. The TPM will be a highly visible leader who owns the communication, coordination, and execution of a multi‑year program vision, working with senior product and engineering leaders to define strategy and requirements, design, coordinate, and execute technical solutions that scale globally, and make trade‑offs between business and technical constraints.

AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. In other words, we’re the people who keep the cloud running. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovations they rely on. You’ll join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles. You’ll collaborate with people across AWS to deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers. Key Job Responsibilities

  • Manage operational relationships with support teams and internal operations business partners to drive increased performance.
  • Demonstrate analytical and quantitative skills and use hard data and metrics to back up assumptions and develop business cases.
  • Effectively interact and collaborate with customers, project sponsors, technical product managers, and multiple internal teams to define and deliver complex solutions.
  • Proactively recognize and drive opportunities to simplify processes.
  • Contribute to and influence technical designs.
  • Drive effective teamwork, communication, collaboration, and commitment across multiple disparate groups with competing priorities.
  • Lead the effective and efficient delivery of large, complex technical projects and programs.
  • Anticipate bottlenecks, provide escalation management, anticipate and make trade‑offs, and balance business needs with technical constraints.
  • Identify, assess, track, and mitigate issues and risks at multiple levels.
  • Create, maintain, and disseminate program information to stakeholders.
  • Travel up to 25% of the time.

A Day in the Life

In this role, you will work with stakeholders and customers to define and implement Non‑Destructive Testing (NDT) maintenance standards globally for multiple equipment categories deployed at AWS Data Centers.

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of technical product or program management experience.
  • 2+ years of analytical, quantitative, communication, and presentation experience.
  • 3+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience.
  • Experience managing programs across cross‑functional teams, building processes, and coordinating release schedules.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of working directly with engineering teams.
  • Knowledge of lean techniques and Six Sigma tools.
  • Six Sigma, lean, or PMP certification.

Location: USA, VA, Herndon – Salary range: $127,100.00 – $172,000.00 USD annually.

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign‑on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
