TECHNICAL PROJECT MANAGER
Descrizione dell'offerta
The Technical Project Manager (TPM) works in close synergy with the Technical Project Leader (TPL) to ensure successful project delivery—on time, within budget, and in line with defined quality standards. Together, they drive the project toward efficient and effective outcomes.
- The TPM plays a key role in supporting the TPL by ensuring integrity among Scope, Budget, Timing and Quality. He will also ensure team alignment through effective communication tools.
The Technical Project Manager organizes activities under five key pillars:
1.Scope
By collaborating with key stakeholders, the Technical Project Manager helps define, evaluate, and refine the project’s content. The boundaries of the project scope should be explicitly identified and regularly communicated to the core team, specifying what is included and excluded to minimize both scope expansion and missing information.
2.Time
The Technical Project Manager maintains ongoing communication with the core team and involved stakeholders to develop and update the Integrated Project Plan. This plan serves as the primary tool to keep the core team informed about project milestones and scheduled activities while ensuring task consistency and appropriate dependencies. Any deviations from the timeline are reported, and corresponding recovery actions are defined and assigned.
3.Economics
The Technical Project Manager oversees the establishment, approval, and monitoring of the R&D budget necessary for project completion. Support is provided for the development and maintenance of annual and multi-year strategic business plans by relevant stakeholders. Potential discrepancies from economic targets are identified early, with corrective measures subsequently assigned.
4.Quality
To maximize the achievement of project objectives, risk and issue management must remain a central focus throughout the project lifecycle. In this context, the Technical Project Manager (TPM) plays a key role in supporting the Technical Project Leader (TPL) by executing the following actions:
- Identifying, documenting, classifying, and prioritizing risks and issues;
- Defining and agreeing on a clear, accountable action plan with the tech team to resolve each issue within a fixed deadline.
Special attention is given to project threats, where the TPM actively contributes to the prevention and control of emerging risks. A dedicated risk register must be established and continuously updated with input from the core team. This register serves as a centralized reference to support informed decision-making and to enhance the likelihood of achieving project goals.
5.Communication
An effective communication plan—clearly outlining how information is shared and through which channels—is a key responsibility of the Technical Project Manager (TPM). Ensuring that communication is clear, consistent, and accessible to all stakeholders is essential for achieving project goals.
By embracing this mindset and integrating the five foundational pillars—communication, risk management, issue resolution, performance monitoring, and team collaboration—the TPM ensures that project objectives are met efficiently, effectively, and within a positive team environment.
