Technical Support Specialist – Flying Doctor
Changan is one of China’s leading automotive manufacturers and is currently launching its European operations, which include the Italian market. Changan Europe is being built as a startup organisation in Europe, developing new dealer networks, after‑sales processes, and technical standards from the ground up.
Italy is a key market in this expansion, and we are strengthening our local after‑sales organisation to support dealers and service centres during the early phase of market introduction.
About the Role The Technical Support Specialist – Flying Doctor is an after‑sales role focused on hands‑on technical support and field assistance for the Italian dealer network.
The role supports Workshops with diagnostics, troubleshooting, and issue resolution, both remotely and on‑site when necessary. It is a practical, operational position designed for a technically minded professional who enjoys working directly with vehicles and service teams.
Key Responsibilities Technical Support & Field Assistance
Provide technical after‑sales support to Italian dealers and service centres.
Assist with vehicle fault diagnosis on mechanical, electrical, electronic and EVs systems.
Support workshops through remote technical assistance (calls, diagnostic data, fault descriptions).
Perform on‑site technical support visits when issues cannot be resolved remotely (“flying doctor” activities).
Escalate complex or unresolved cases with HQ technical staff.
Collect and document field issues, repair feedback, and technical data from the Italian market.
Support warranty, quality, and technical investigations with accurate and timely information.
Documentation & Process Support
Assist in preparing technical case reports, service feedback, and basic diagnostic documentation.
Follow established diagnostic procedures and service guidelines.
Support continuous improvement of after‑sales processes in a growing startup environment.
Requirements Technical Background
Technical diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Automotive Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
2–4 years’ experience in automotive after‑sales service, technical support, or vehicle diagnostics.
Good knowledge of:
Vehicle mechanical systems
Electrical and electronic systems
Diagnostic tools and fault‑finding processes
Experience with EVs.
Skills & Personal Profile
G ood working knowledge of
English and Italian .
Practical, hands‑on approach with strong willingness to learn.
Able to follow structured diagnostic methods and technical procedures.
Clear and professional communication with workshop personnel.
Reliable, organised, and comfortable working independently.
Customer‑focused attitude and high sense of responsibility.
Mobility
Based in Milan, with regular travel within Italy.
Occasional international travels may be required.
