About Human Technopole:

Human Technopole (HT) is an interdisciplinary life science research institute, created and supported by the Italian government, with the aim of developing innovative strategies to improve human health. Researchers at HT work together to enable interdisciplinary research and to create an open, collaborative environment that will help promote life science research both nationally and internationally.

Flagship Research Programmes at HT are strategic collaborative efforts that leverage on the cutting-edge expertise and infrastructure available at HT for translational research focussed on different human pathologies.

In the “Immunogenomics & Cancer” Flagship Research Programme we will investigate immune diseases and tumours as evolving systems and use multi-modal data through spatiotemporal scales, including functional genomics assays, to understand why and how those diseases change over time. We will also tackle the question of what are the mechanisms by which those diseases stop responding to treatment, developing drug resistance.

About the position:

The Immunogenomics & Cancer Flagship Research Programme at Human Technopole (HT) is seeking a skilled and motivated Research Technician/Senior Research Technician to generate novel ‘omics data from appropriate models, including patient-derived organoids and primary cell cultures.

The successful candidate will be responsible for optimising, implementing and applying novel functional genomics protocols available within HT’s Functional Genomics Research Centre, such as bulk and single-cell based 3D genome technologies (e.g. Hi-C, Dip-C), as well as CAGE-seq, RADICL-seq, RIBO-seq and others. The role will involve generating high-quality NGS data and contributing to cutting-edge research into cancer and immune-related diseases.

We are looking for a highly organized and detail-oriented candidate with a strong background in molecular biology and hands-on experience in next-generation sequencing (NGS) and library preparation.

The ideal candidate will have experience in applying ‘omics techniques in research setting and be confident working with human-derived samples. They will work collaboratively with experimental and computational scientists at HT and contribute to the generation and interpretation of high-quality data, as well as the formulation and validation of hypotheses.

Key tasks and responsibilities

  • Implement and optimize functional genomics methods for ‘omics profiling.
  • Work with human samples and human-derived models (e.g., organoids, primary cultures).
  • Apply, generate, and optimize protocols and standardize procedures.
  • Generate high-quality and reliable NGS libraries for publiations and maintain clear, accurate records of all data and results.
  • Collaborate with the HT National Genomics Facility on sample profiling.
