• Your role

As a

• Technology Scout
• within Symrise’s Cosmetic Ingredients (CI) Division, you will be responsible for identifying innovative external technologies and solutions that align with the strategic search fields and key performance indicators (KPIs) of the Symrise CI portfolio. Your deep understanding of the cosmetics industry, combined with strong technical expertise and market insights, will support the innovation pipeline across all three Business Units within the CI Division.
• Proactively scout for external technologies and partnerships globally, with relevance for the Symrise CI Division.
• Attend key industry fairs, exhibitions, and conferences to identify and evaluate emerging technologies and innovation opportunities.
• Evaluate technical feasibility of identified technologies in collaboration with Directors from Global Innovation CI.
• Collaborate with Category Directors across Business Units to assess business relevance and market potential.
• Build and maintain a strong network of external partners including startups, research institutes, and innovation hubs.
• Contribute to building and managing the CI innovation pipeline through structured evaluation and strategic alignment.
• Deliver technology reports and landscape assessments aligned with CI innovation goals.
• Act as an ambassador for Symrise CI in external meetings and strategic innovation platforms.
• About you
• Master’s degree or higher in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology, or a related scientific discipline.
• Minimum of 10 years’ experience in the cosmetics industry (preferably B2C; B2B experience also considered).
• Demonstrated knowledge of innovation trends, product development cycles, and scientific advancements in cosmetics.
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
• Willingness to travel internationally up to 30% of the time.
• Excellent communication, networking, and presentation skills.
• Strong collaboration and team spirit, especially in diverse and international teams.
