La posizione è aperta all’interno del team di Leonardo.**Job Description:**Leonardo is an international industrial group, one of the world's leading companies in Aerospace, Defense and Security, which creates multi-domain technological capabilities in Helicopters, Aircraft, Aerostructures, Electronics, Cyber Security and Space. With over 60,000 employees worldwide, the company has a solid industrial presence in Italy, the United Kingdom, Poland, the United States, and operates in 150 countries also through subsidiaries, joint ventures and equity investments. A protagonist in major global strategic programs, it is a technological and industrial partner of Governments, Defense Administrations, Institutions and companies. In 2024, Leonardo recorded consolidated revenues of € 17.8 billion, new orders of € 20.9 billion, and invested € 2.5 billion in R&D activities. Innovation, continuous research, digital industry and sustainability are the pillars of its business worldwide.Experienced tutors in their field will follow you, allowing you to deepen the theoretical part and develop your thesis, preparing you in the best possible way for future professional challenges.The topics proposed for theses to be carried out at Leonardo embrace a vast spectrum of technological, research and innovation fields: from Artificial Intelligence to High-Performance Computing, from Cyber Security to Materials Engineering, passing through the aerospace sectors. You will be able to explore the most avant-garde areas of your field of study, with creativity and a spirit of innovation.To support you during this experience, which will last a maximum of six months, an expense reimbursement is also provided.We are looking for 1 young student to be placed in an internship with the aim of developing their degree thesis on the topic of "**Structural verification of dynamic loads based on accelerometric data**", at the Venegono Superiore plant.The purpose of this thesis is the development of a methodology that allows the reconstruction of stresses acting on the structure of an aircraft subjected to a dynamic load condition (e.G. aerodynamic buffet), based on the discrete measurement of the acceleration field carried out during dedicated flight activities.The work will include the analysis of the current state of the process and related tools to contribute to the implementation of a dedicated software tool (in a MATLAB environment) and its validation.The thesis work will focus on the development of a methodology that allows the use of accelerometric data collected during flight activities carried out with aircraft instrumented with sensors on the main structural components (Wing and Tail Planes), to reconstruct the acting stress state.The main activities will concern:* Analysis of flight data (aero-mechanical and accelerometric parameters);
* Bibliographic research on existing methods and techniques;
* Implementation of a dedicated software tool (in a MATLAB environment);
* Validation of the tool with test cases and/or references from literature;
* Comparison of results with structural response analysis to forcing derived from unsteady CFD simulations;
* Transfer of loads from the reduced model used for dynamic calculations to the detailed finite element model for the calculation of resulting stresses;
* Definition of a procedure for the selection of dimensioning conditions for a specific structural component (e.G. rudder/elevator/trimmer…).**Educational qualification:** Master's Degree in Aerospace or Aeronautical Engineering.**Seniority:** Junior**Technical knowledge and skills:*** Knowledge of signal analysis, dynamics of aerospace structures, aeroelasticity.**Behavioral skills:*** Proactivity;
* Ability to work in ateam;
* Learning orientation;
* Flexibility;
* Communication;
**Language knowledge:*** Good knowledge of written and spoken English, level B2/C1.**Computer skills:*** Good knowledge of Nastran (Dynamic and Aeroelastic packages);
* Basic knowledge of MATLAB.**How does the selection process work?**Following the collection of applications, CVs that are most in line with the required requirements are evaluated and identified.Selected candidates undergo an introductory interview with the Human Resources team and with the Business, where technical topics, motivation and personal aptitudes will be explored.At the end of the process, the person receives feedback, both in case of a positive and negative outcome.**We look forward to your application**.*By collaborating with us, you will constantly face the challenges of high technology, increase your skills and build a professional career of excellence.***Seniority:** Junior**Primary Location:** IT - Venegono Superiore**Contract Type:****Hybrid Working:** In loco
