The Human Technopole Foundation (HT) is an interdisciplinary research institute, created and supported by the Italian government, whose aim is to develop innovative strategies to promote human health and healthy aging through a multidisciplinary and integrated approach, combining genomics, computational biology, structural biology, neuroscience and health data science. HT scientists work together to enable interdisciplinary research and to create an open, collaborative environment to help promote life science research nationally and internationally. In line with its mission to serve the research community at large, HT operates National Facilities, specifically aimed at making HT’s technologies, methods and tools available to the national scientific community.
The Human Technopole Foundation is looking for a TLC/ICT Specialist .
The TLC/ICT Specialist is responsible for ensuring the design and implementation of all TLC infrastructures in alignment with Research area and ICT area requirements, including data storage and high-performance computing facilities.
The role will be also part of the development team for the realization of new buildings to complete the Research Campus and will report directly to the Design and Permitting Manager.
Human Technopole, located in Milan MIND Area and counts more than 20.000 sqm of complex building infrastructures, highly technological laboratories and services. The next stage of development will double the current size and will open multiple services to other national institutions.
Your main tasks and responsibilities:
- Periodically collect, prioritize and validate specifications and requirements from ICT and Research area and discuss them with the line manager;
- Propose minimum standards, new approaches and flexible designs to support the technological development of TLC infrastructure;
- Collaborate with the R&D team within the relevant field of expertise;
- Maintain regular communication with stakeholders for information or change management;
- Contribute to the development of technical specification for IT equipment to complete the infrastructures;
- Setup of pluriannual TLC plan for HT to be included in CDFM long-term design, construction and maintenance plan, according to HT strategic decision at ICT and research level
- Ensure coherence and integration across procedures and sub-projects (timing, overlap, ownership);
- Plan and manage procurement requests for necessary works, supplies, and services to design and implement new TLC infrastructures or to revamp existing ones;
- Oversee TLC infrastructure implementation, ensuring compliance with technical, regulatory, and project constraints from feasibility to construction;
- Conduct site measurements and inspections during construction phases;
- Define possible design variations or support the construction team during the execution phase;
- Assist with authorization and certification processes (e.g., Data Center TIER certifications);
- Support CDFM and ICT execution teams during commissioning and routine infrastructure management with FM Team;
- Maintain organized and up-to-date technical documentation for TLC infrastructure;
- Develop TLC maintenance plans, Standard Operating Procedures and technical specifications;
- Assist in defining IT and BMS architecture, including hardware/software, server/client deployment and Database creation, maintenance and monitoring linked to TLC/ICT;
- Provide support during audits.
Requirements
Mandatory requirements:
- Engineering Degree (Telecommunication, Automation or related field);
- Minimum 3 years of experience in complex TLC infrastructure or Data centers;
- Knowledge of ICT frameworks, networking and security standards management;
- Experience in the design and/or development of Data Centers;
- Fluency in Italian (both written and spoken);
- Proficient in English, with strong communication skills in both written and verbal formats.
Preferred requirements :
- Previous experience in research/hospital/university environments;
- Previous experiences with BIM-managed projects.

- Efficient coordination and monitoring of activities;
- Strong customer focus, with the ability to understand and address end-user needs;
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills;
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate and contribute effectively within a team environment;
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills for effective engagement with internal teams and external stakeholders.

Salary range : from to € 41 - € 49k, based on experience and seniority.
