The history of the Dallara Group began in 1972 when Eng. Giampaolo Dallara, after significant work experiences at Ferrari, Maserati, Lamborghini, and De Tomaso, founded "Dallara Automobili da Competizione" in Varano de' Melegari, a small town near Parma.

Today, the Dallara Group consists of over 900 Dallara People and is one of the most important entities in the design, development, and production of high-performance racing cars. Dallara is the sole supplier for the IndyCar, IndyNXT, Formula 2, Formula 3, EuroFormula, Formula E, and Super Formula championships. Additionally, it develops and produces some of the cars competing in the WEC and IMSA championships and offers consultancy in other championships, including NASCAR.

Since the early 2000s, the Dallara Group has provided specialized consultancy and professional assistance to manufacturers and racing teams to develop both racing and road cars.

On November 16, 2016, the Dallara Stradale was unveiled, the first road car bearing the Dallara brand, embodying Engineer Dallara's dream and synthesizing nearly 50 years of innovation. Subsequently, the Dallara EXP, a track version of the Stradale, was developed, representing the essence of sporting spirit with extreme performance and FIA safety standards.

In recent years, the Dallara Group has also started collaborating on developing solutions for the aerospace sector.

The Role

As a Track Performance Engineer , you will join the Vehicle Dynamics & Performance Dept. at Dallara Automobili, a company within the Dallara Group specializing in design, pre-series production, and testing of products for the three business units: Racing, Automotive, and Aerospace.

Within the team, you will be responsible for developing and optimizing car’s performance for Dallara's internal or client projects. Specifically, you will handle:

  • Data analysis before, during, and after track events (tests or official events)
  • Managing driving simulator sessions
  • Optimizing vertical dynamics on the 7-post rig

In this position, you will have the opportunity to collaborate with various company areas, including Design & Research, Aerodynamics and Electrics & Electronics. You will join a young and dynamic environment where you can participate in highly challenging projects in the automotive and racing sectors.

What We Are Looking For

  • Master's degree in mechanical engineering, vehicle engineering, or similar;
  • 2-4 years of experience in similar roles in the automotive and/or motorsport sectors;
  • Proficiency in data analysis software (e.g., Motec, PI Toolbox, Windarab);
  • Good knowledge of Matlab or Python;
  • Good knowledge of English (minimum level B2);
  • Good knowledge of sensor systems and datalogging;
  • Preferred knowledge of multibody software (e.g., Dymola, Adams/Car, Simpack);
  • High motivation and commitment with an innovative mindset;
  • Initiative, professionalism, and strong teamwork skills;
  • Positive and optimistic attitude;
  • Passion for motorsport and automotive;
  • Flexibility to travel frequently abroad when required;
  • Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
