Since the end of 2022, we have started developing a new MSC Air Cargo solution in response to customer demand and as a complementary service to its container shipping solutions.
To support the growth of MSC Air Cargo activitie s, we are looking for a highly motivated and hands- on Trade Compliance Analyst. This position offers excellent opportunities for an enterprising individual to gain first-class, hands-on in-house experience supporting the Regulatory Affairs Director within the stimulating, multinational environment of a new global air freight company.
The Operations, Regulations & Compliance function of MSC Air Cargo provides risk oversight, informs on the aviation regulatory landscape and provides guidance to the business.
We set standards and provide a framework for the management of trade compliance risks. We support MSC group ethics and compliance and help secure conformity across our supply chain, entities, and products on multiple topics. The Trade Compliance Specialist is responsible for ensuring that our activities comply with international trade laws and regulations.
Responsibilities:
The main goal is to ensure the coordination, support, monitoring and legal analysis of the impact of international trade compliance laws and regulations for air cargo operation with respect to:
- Perform regulatory mapping, legal review and business impact assessments for trade compliance and export controls for air cargo.
- Establish a review and approval process for international air cargo shipment documentation. Provision of compliance support on import and export processes for air cargo.
- Assistance with level 3 escalation for air cargo compliance airwaybill screening for party and commodity matches. This will involve some additional out of hours work on a rotational basis.
- Assist, where necessary, with co ordination of false positive reduction (FPR) rules requirement for automated screening software solution.
- Establish and manage a framework for process design, reporting and resolution of trade compliance issues.
- Creation and maintenance of a global regulatory and compliance resource library for MSC Air Cargo.
Qualifications:
- Education: Law or Business degree (BLaw or equivalent) desirable International Trade, Law, or a related field.
- Languages: Business-level English (written and spoken), additional languages are a plus.
- Data and software: Ideally strong skills experience and aptitude with Power BI and Excel software, SharePoint and PowerPoint. Use of compliance screening tools an advantage.
- Prior legal professional experience in a governance/compliance/export controls or legal in-house department would be beneficial.
- Project / programme management.
