Venture Capital Associate - Climate Technology Investments

The Role
We seek a driven Venture Capital Associate with a technical background (3-5 years’ experience) to source, evaluate, and execute climate tech investments. This role involves comprehensive due diligence, financial modelling, active portfolio support, and contributions to fund operations, with a personal investment in the fund's carry pool.
The key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Deal Sourcing and Evaluation:
- Proactively identify and source promising climate tech companies.
- Conduct initial screenings and assess investment viability.
- Analyse market and technology trends.
Due Diligence and Financial Analysis:
- Perform technical, financial, ESG and commercial due diligence.
- Develop financial models and valuation analyses.
- Evaluate intellectual property and regulatory risks.
Investment Execution and Portfolio Management:
- Prepare investment memos and presentations.
- Assist in structuring investment terms.
- Monitor and support portfolio companies.
- Contribute to investor reporting.
Networking and Fund Operations:
- Build industry relationships.
- Contribute to fund operational tasks.
- Participate in the fund's carry pool.
Qualifications and experience:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in a technical field (engineering, physics, chemistry, environmental science, or related).
- 3-5 years of experience in b2b environments across the venture capital, technology industry, or related fields.
- Strong analytical and financial modelling skills.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Understanding of climate tech and emerging technologies.
- Passion for sustainability and climate change mitigation.
- Risk tolerance and willingness to invest in the fund.
- Fluent English.
