Vice President of Engineering

We’re looking for a VP of Engineering, someone hands-on, highly structured, and deeply technical, with strong managerial instincts and a drive to deliver. This person will be responsible for overseeing the entire engineering department, ensuring high technical standards, managing delivery processes, and serving as a key counterpart to the executive leadership team.

Responsibilities :

• Lead and grow a 20+ person global engineering team, scaling it as needed.
• Ensure code quality through architecture oversight, code reviews, and engineering best practices.
• Translate company goals into technical strategy in collaboration with Product, CTO and other C-level executives.
• Build and refine development processes to ensure speed, quality, and scalability.
• Promote a culture of accountability, ownership, and continuous improvement.
• Actively participate in hiring, onboarding, mentoring, and performance reviews.
• Stay close to the codebase when needed, while empowering the team leads to take ownership.

Requirements :

• 8+ years of experience in software development.
• 5+ years of experience managing team leads and scaling mid-to-large engineering teams (10+ people).
• Proven experience in delivering consumer-facing applications or platforms in B2C markets, with a strong focus on usability, performance, and scalability.
• Well familiar with SDLC management.
• Strong technical background with the ability to dive into architecture and code when required.
• Solid experience with blockchain technologies, smart contracts, and decentralized systems and familiarity with web3 integrations, crypto wallets, token standards, and blockchain APIs.
• Understanding of security practices specific to blockchain-based systems and key management.
• Working knowledge of the domain name industry (DNS, WHOIS, registry / registrar systems, etc.) is a strong plus.
• Strong focus on efficiency and optimization (including AI).
• Proven ability to drive alignment across departments and balance tech with business priorities.
• Exceptional organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Experience in a startup or scale-up environment is a strong plus.
• Fluency in English (Italian is a plus, not a requirement).
• Displays high independence, self-motivation, and a strong focus on execution and results.

We’re now looking for a senior leader to take full ownership of the department and help us scale, working closely with the CEO and CTO.
