Vice President of Engineering

We’re looking for a VP of Engineering, someone hands-on, highly structured, and deeply technical, with strong managerial instincts and a drive to deliver. This person will be responsible for overseeing the entire engineering department, ensuring high technical standards, managing delivery processes, and serving as a key counterpart to the executive leadership team.
Responsibilities :
- Lead and grow a 20+ person global engineering team, scaling it as needed.
- Ensure code quality through architecture oversight, code reviews, and engineering best practices.
- Translate company goals into technical strategy in collaboration with Product, CTO and other C-level executives.
- Build and refine development processes to ensure speed, quality, and scalability.
- Promote a culture of accountability, ownership, and continuous improvement.
- Actively participate in hiring, onboarding, mentoring, and performance reviews.
- Stay close to the codebase when needed, while empowering the team leads to take ownership.
Requirements :
- 8+ years of experience in software development.
- 5+ years of experience managing team leads and scaling mid-to-large engineering teams (10+ people).
- Proven experience in delivering consumer-facing applications or platforms in B2C markets, with a strong focus on usability, performance, and scalability.
- Well familiar with SDLC management.
- Strong technical background with the ability to dive into architecture and code when required.
- Solid experience with blockchain technologies, smart contracts, and decentralized systems and familiarity with web3 integrations, crypto wallets, token standards, and blockchain APIs.
- Understanding of security practices specific to blockchain-based systems and key management.
- Working knowledge of the domain name industry (DNS, WHOIS, registry / registrar systems, etc.) is a strong plus.
- Strong focus on efficiency and optimization (including AI).
- Proven ability to drive alignment across departments and balance tech with business priorities.
- Exceptional organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in a startup or scale-up environment is a strong plus.
- Fluency in English (Italian is a plus, not a requirement).
- Displays high independence, self-motivation, and a strong focus on execution and results.

We’re now looking for a senior leader to take full ownership of the department and help us scale, working closely with the CEO and CTO.
