Summary
This position is assigned to the Naval Support Activity Naples; Fleet and Family Readiness (FFR); Commander, Navy Region Europe, Africa, Central; Commander, Navy Installations Command (CNIC).
Duties
Helps monitor and maintain workload schedule and ensures deadlines are met.
Evaluates production time to assure an efficient and cost‑effective operation.
Fulfills all responsibilities of a graphic artist, including designing and producing finished graphic material and projects used to promote all aspects of FFR operations, activities, events, and facilities. Projects include magazines, brochures, posters, flier, menus, logos, letterhead, tickets, table tents, forms, business cards, video production, photo editing, electronic marquee notices, social media visuals, editing/updating the FFR web page, and photography and videography at events.
Communicates regularly with FFR customers and marketing staff to ensure draft work receives approval, deadlines are met, and organization goals are accomplished.
Maintains computer files for completed work and coordinates with supervisors and customers regarding project scope, progress, and status.
Maintains production and office equipment, supplies, and supplies as directed; suggests repairs and purchases as needed.
Assists with marketing plans for special events, scheduled activities, and campaigns to increase patronage and/or revenue.
Works with outside vendors for large projects; negotiates technical requirements, deadlines, and materials.
Performs tasks for special events as needed, such as designing and painting signs, framing visual material, backing‑up creation, collateral support, and other related tasks.
Drives to facilities and events using a government vehicle in support of marketing department efforts.
Requirements
- This position requires successful completion of a background check.
Qualifications
- Ability to use graphics applications on Apple and PC platforms.
- Knowledge of complex design software, including Adobe Creative Suite/Creative Cloud programs such as Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc.
- Knowledge of proper grammar, spelling, and standard graphics styles.
- Ability to conceptualize and recommend advertising methods from written and verbal instructions.
- Ability to work in a high‑volume graphics operations environment to establish priorities and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work effectively as a team member and across different positions within the department.
- Ability to communicate effectively with others.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
Education
Proof of education must be uploaded at the time of application. If a degree has not yet been conferred, a copy of the high school diploma or equivalent is required along with college transcripts.
