We are seeking a skilled Welding Engineer to define, manage, and oversee welding processes ensuring compliance with applicable regulatory, quality, and technical standards. The Welding Engineer will work closely with Quality, Production, Design, and Procurement departments, acting as the key technical contact for welding activities both internally and with suppliers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, validate, and maintain Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) and associated qualifications (PQR, WPQ) in accordance with international standards (ASME, EN, ISO).
- Coordinate and support welding activities in internal production departments and external suppliers.
- Collaborate with technical offices on welded joint design, material selection, and welding methods.
- Manage technical relations with certification bodies, third-party inspectors, and clients for document approvals and process audits.
- Analyze and manage welding-related non-conformities, defining and monitoring corrective actions.
- Conduct technical audits and support supplier qualification for welding activities.
- Maintain updated technical and regulatory documentation related to welding processes.
- Drive continuous improvement and contribute to technical innovation within the department.
Requirements:
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent technical qualification.
- International Welding Engineer (IWE) certification or equivalent (preferred).
- In-depth knowledge of international welding standards (ASME IX, EN ISO 15614, etc.).
- Minimum 5 years of experience in industrial welding processes.
- Proven experience in structured industrial environments, preferably in plant engineering or metalworking manufacturing.
- Familiarity with major welding processes (TIG, MIG/MAG, SAW, coated electrode, etc.).
- Ability to read technical drawings and project specifications.
- Autonomy, precision, and strong quality orientation.
- Ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams.
- Excellent communication skills, including interactions with clients and external bodies.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical communication abilities.
- Proficiency in written and spoken English.
