Purpose of the Position
Welding Engineer you will join our Department of Material Engineering , within the business line Offshore E&C Asset Based within Pipeline Technologies Estimation and performance monitoring.
Responsibilities
- Provide Metallurgical and Welding support to all engineering disciplines to comply with contractual requirements and with the updated technological criteria;
- Evaluate Client/End User tender documents and requirements relevant to metallic materials and associated fabrication process;
- Prepare and issue preliminary Welding Documents for assigned project or bids;
- Prepare/Update Welding General Specifications and Standards, PMI Specification, technical specifications for special metallic materials and welding consumables, NDT table for piping/pipeline construction welds;
- Review welding documents (WPS/PQR), welding repair and heat treatment procedures issued by Manufacturer/Vendor and prepare welding qualification matrix and pWPS for piping/pipeline direct hiring construction welds;
- Define and witness welding trial test for special materials;
- Prepare welding qualification plan and associated costs;
- Calculate raw material consumption and relevant costs.
Education
Master's Degree/bachelor’s degree in: Material/chemistry Engineering; Chemistry or similar.
Experience
2 years as a welding engineer within production.
Languages
English B2.
Technical Skills
Basic knowledge of welding standards and processes.
IT Skills
Advanced use of Microsoft Office package.
What else should you know?
You will have the opportunity to travel abroad based on the projects you will work. In the first phase training will be customized mainly in Pipeline technology center in Romania to understand PIPTEC process and technology. Possible mission onboard to understand the Vessel reality and PIPTEC strategy. The training has the target to create competence for tendering phase mainly and it can be possible future application on execution project.
